The same Republicans who voted no on child tax credits and no for legislation to make health care and prescriptions more affordable because they said it’d explode the deficit now have no problem supporting a budget bill that will add $3.1 trillion to the US deficit to subsidize tax breaks for the ultra wealthy. Meanwhile, nearly 1 in 6 Americans can’t afford to pay their bills on time, and about 30% say they are worse off now than in 2024.
